1. Description
Active SMART is a the hard disk drive monitoring and failure 
prediction software. It uses S.M.A.R.T. technology to monitor 
the health status of hard disk drives, prevents data loss and 
predicts possible drive fail. 
If a fault is detected, you are notified with various local 
alerting options or you can enable remote notifications via 
e-mail or other network mail applications with the drive ID 
and the time of the first fault.
Active SMART monitors all important HDD parameters. You can 
track every S.M.A.R.T. parameter of your HDD, and get the 
information about every drive's attribute: attribute's value, 
it's threshold level and worst value for the attribute. Also 
it shows the information about HDD: serial number, drive 
logical information, current mode and other.

2. System Requirements
* A computer running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT4, 
Windows Me, Windows 2000 and Windows XP 
* Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 or later recommended. 
* Approximately 1MB of free hard disk space.


3. Installation Notes
You can always find the latest version of Active SMART at 
http://www.ariolic.com/activesmart/index.html
Once you have downloaded the file, unzip it to a temporary 
folder and run setup.exe. Follow the on-screen prompts to 
install Active SMART.

4. Known Issues
Currently there are no known issues.

5. Bug Reports
While we have made every effort to ensure that there are no 
known bugs, there is the chance that some have slipped through 
our rigorous testing regime. If you find any bugs, please
email us at activesmart@ariolic.com

6. Licensing
Active SMART is not free software. You are free to use 
Active SMART for a 21-day evaluation period as described in 
LICENSE.TXT. If you wish to continue to use Active SMART after 
the 21 day evaluation period has expired, you must pay 
a registration fee to Ariolic Software. Please read ORDER.TXT 
for ordering details.
